Tuesday's prep roundup: Perry to play for NWCC title
McGUFFEY - Perry's offense bashed 9 hits and pitcher Trevor Wallace took it from there as the Commodores beat host Upper Scioto Valley 9-0 in baseball action Tuesday, moving the team closer to the Northwest Central Conference championship.
The victory gives Perry (9-8, 5-0) at least a share of the NWCC title. Perry can win the crown outright when it plays host to Ridgemont at 5 p.m. Thursday. USV falls to 5-13, 2-3.
Wallace raised his record to 6-0 with the complete game shutout win. He allowed 3 hits and struck out 4. Shane Cockerell doubled twice and singled, scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Brey Buetner tripled and had 2 RBIs. Derek Mullet was 2-for-2 for USV.
Bluffton 4, Columbus Grove 2
BLUFFTON - Bluffton's Nathan Cheny pitched for a victory in the Northwest Conference game. Devin Kisor doubled for the Pirates (9-7, 4-1). Garrett Wolfe homered and Brandon Hovest doubled for Columbus Grove (14-5, 4-2).
LCC 14, Ada 0
ADA - LCC outhit Ada 12-1 and ran away with the NWC contest at Ada. Cody Huffer got the win while Cody McCullough had 3 doubles, Kevin Linehan had 2 and Sean Gronas, Mike Snider and Austin Stolly each had 1. LCC improves to 7-8 overall, 3-3 in the NWC, while Ada is 2-11, 0-5.
Marion Harding 6, Lima Senior 1
MARION - Ryan Stalder had two of Lima Senior's three hits as the Spartans fell in the Greater Buckeye Conference game. Stalder doubled, singled and scored a run for Lima Senior (6-10).
Celina 10, Bath 6
CELINA - Derek Waterman tripled and doubled for Celina in the WBL victory. Kevin Korkate and singled for Bath (9-9, 2-2) while Josh Runda went 3-for-4.
Defiance 8, Elida 0
DEFIANCE - Dace Kime cracked two home runs and Defiance (16-3) claimed the WBL contest. Dalton Martz doubled for Elida (4-15).
Parkway 8, Delphos St. John's 5
DELPHOS - Parkway scored six runs in the top of the first and held off St. John's in the MAC contest. Levon Archer homered, doubled and singled for Parkway (8-9, 2-1) while Austin Vogt was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored for St. John's (7-11).
Miller City 5, Ottoville 1
MILLER CITY - Tony Schroeder belted a home run and a double as Miller City claimed the PCL victory at home. Seth Lammers was 2-for-4 and Brent Hermiller doubled for the Wildcats (11-2, 3-0). Matt Niemeyer and Jacob Landin each had two hits while Matt Honigford tripled for Ottoville (5-6).

Wapakoneta 4, Kenton 0
WAPAKONETA - Kelsey Place tossed a complete game gem and the Redskins won the WBL game. Place struck out 10 and allowed 2 hits and a walk. Jordyn Bodell and Sandra Springer each doubled and singled for Wapakoneta, which finished with 12 hits as all nine hitter had a hit.
Perry 6, Waynesfield 4
WAYNESFIELD - Megan Patton had 2 RBIs and pitched a complete game for the victory. Patton struck out 13 and allowed one earned run in the win.
Bath 3, Celina 0
BATH TOWNSHIP - Shelby Snyder improved her record to 16-1 by pitching a gem in the WBL battle.
Snyder's shutout performance included 11 strikeouts, no walks and three hits. Emily Jordan doubled for the Wildkittens (17-2, 6-2).
Bluffton 13, Columbus Grove 7
BLUFFTON - Chelsea Wheeler went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and picked up the pitching victory for Bluffton. Shannon McKamey went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs for the Pirates while Ashley Bowyer was 3-5 with 2 stolen bases and Kristen McCamey was 2-3 with 2 stolen bases and 2 RBIs. Cece Utendorf doubled for Columbus Grove.
New Bremen 6, Allen East 3
NEW BREMEN - Megan Broerman struck out 4 and picked up the win against visiting Allen East. Stacy Timmerman and Michelle Griesdorn each tripled for New Bremen.
Kayla Crow tripled for Allen East (8-9) and Jessi Elsass went 2-for-3.
Continental 6, Miller City 0
CONTINENTAL - Continental scored five runs in the third and pitcher Jessica Hanefeld did the rest, throwing a complete game, three-hitter and striking out nine in the PCL win.
Janelle Doenges, Brooke Tegenkamp, Marlene Bradley and Stephanie Burke each had two hits for Continental (8-4, 3-0).
Boys Tennis
Shawnee 3, LCC 2
SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP - Shawnee swept the doubles matches to slip by visiting LCC in nonleague play.
Hunter Pay and Ryan Barton won at No. 1 doubles for Shawnee (13-3) while Clayton Smith and Matt Tucker won at No. 2. Sam Rutter won at No. 1 singles for the Indians.
Erich Wade and Nate Higgins each won singles matches for the T-Birds (7-1).
Findlay 3, Elida 2
ELIDA - Evan Neuman and J.J. Jackson each won singles matches for Elida (10-4) but visiting Findlay (8-4) won the nonleague match.

Delphos Jefferson tops Allen East
LAFAYETTE - Delphos Jefferson's boys edged Allen East 70-59 in a dual while the Jefferson girls won 117-13. Tim Sanders won the 110 hurdles and the 100 dash for Jefferson's boys, while Allen East's E.J. Laing won the discus, long jump and high jump. On the girls' side, Adrian Kimmett won the 1,600, the 800 and the 3,200 for Jefferson.
