Perry wins opener over McComb

MCCOMB - Shanique Southward tossed in 22 points to lead Perry to a 54-48 girls basketball victory over McComb Tuesday at McComb.

Christi Walker added nine points for the Commodores.

Perry is 1-0, while McComb is 1-1.

McComb led 27-24 at halftime. Perry outscored McComb 17-10 in the third quarter to take a 41-37 lead after three quarters.

 

 

 

Kelsey Williams scored 10 points for Waynesfield. Abbey Gray and Mackenzie Miller both scored nine.

Erica Blair led Valune with 12 points.

Waynesfield is 1-1. Vanlue is 0-2.

 

 

 

Sam Fell added 15 points for the Bulldogs.

Ada hit 4-of-11 on 3-pointers.

 

 

 

Gabby Gonzales paced Defiance with 18 points and four 3-pointers. Jaide Hoellrich scored 14 points.

Defiance outrebounded the Patriots, 22-20.

 

 

 

Morgan Kohls scored 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Columbus Grove. Erica Glass scored 14 points, with two 3-pointers. Ashley Birchmeier had 11 points and six rebounds.

Columbus Grove led 31-23 at the half. The Bulldogs outscored Riverside 20-6 in the third quarter to open up a 51-29 lead.

Amelia Carter led Riverside with 12 points.

 

 

 

Jenna Miller added 12 points with a pair of 3-pointers for the Wildcats. Morgan Fischbach scored 12 with two 3-pointers.

Delphos Jefferson (2-0) outscored Fairview 29-2 in the second quarter to take a 46-13 lead into the half.

 

Delphos Jefferson 74, Fairview 27:

Kristin Klausing scored 15 points to lead a balanced Delphos Jefferson offense in a victory over Fairview at Delphos.

 

Columbus Grove 63, Riverside 42:

Columbus Grove pulled away from Riverside in the third quarter to post a convincing victory.

 

Defiance 59, Patrick Henry 52:

Defiance trailed by 10 in the first quarter, but came back to bump off Patrick Henry.

 

Ada 66, Cory-Rawson 37:

Morgan Dumbaugh tossed in 23 points, with three 3-pointers, to power Ada to a victory over Cory-Rawson.

 

Waynesfield 72, Vanlue 30:

Shelby Gilroy scored 14 points and Brooke Shaw added 13 to guide Tigers to a victory over Value at Waynesfield.
