Elida sends three to district

Elida had Jessie Adkins and the doubles team of Jessica Stambaugh and Amy Sarno advance to the semifinals of the girls tennis Division II sectional tournament at the Collett Street Courts Thursday.

Joining Adkins in the semifinals are Lima Central Catholic's Ashley Swick, Bath's Emily Jordan and Tiffin Columbian's No.1-seed Nicole Ardner.

The semifinalists in the doubles are Elida's Stambaugh and Sarno, Shawnee's No. 1-seeded team of Vidhi Madan and Elizabeth Mart, St. Marys' Lydia Krugh and Mariah Krugh and St. Marys' Megan Dominik and Kelly Fritz.

All semifinalists, the top four, in singles and doubles advance to the district tournament next Thursday at Port Clinton.

The sectional semifinals are scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at Collett Street.

 

 

 

Jordan Alt, Andrew Trenkamp and Eric Brickner scored for the Titans. Michael Sommer and Mitch Leugers scored for Celina.

O-G outshot Celina, 16-8.

Titans goalkeeper Nick Leatherman made four saves for the victory. Celina goalie Jordan Bertke had 10 saves.

O-G is 11-0-2, 7-0 in the WBL. Celina is 8-3, 6-1 in the WBL.

 

 

 

Kyler Washam and Adam Khalaf scored for the Indians.

Shawnee outshot Van Wert, 21-3.

Shawnee is 11-2-1, 7-1 in the Western Buckeye League. Van Wert is 1-10-2.

 

 

 

Mitch Wenzinger, Zack Niese, Logan Konst and Bubba Klear all scored for the Wildcats.

Miller City stands 11-2-1. P-G is 1-13.

Miller City outshot the Rockets, 21-3.

 

 

 

The Pioneers stand 10-1-2.

Dylan Pritchett, Jonathan Winkleman, Brandon High and Elisha Shannon scored for the Pioneers.

 

 

 

Ali Manley and Abby Snyder scored for the Wildcats.

Delphos St. John's outshot Bath, 14-8.

Bath is 5-7-2. St. John's is 6-7-1.

 

 

 

Jessica Brown had three assists and Brooke Tegenkamp added a goal for the Pirates.

Kari Beining and Kendra Krouskop scored for the Big Green.

Continental outshot Ottoville, 22-17. Pirates goalkeeper Kyleigh Holtsberry made 13 saves.

 

 

 

Shawnee's Chelsea Oren had 10 kills. Megan Ream had two aces. Rachel Ciminillo had 14 digs. Jill Pajka had 32 assists. Erin Turner had nine blocks.

St. Marys' Rachel Wale had eight digs and eight assists. Bailey Smith had seven kills.

St. Marys is 4-15, 1-6 in the Western Buckeye League. Shawnee is 13-6, 6-1 in the WBL.

 

 

 

For the Pioneers, Krista Good had 12 assists. Katie Winkelman had 22 digs and eight aces.

The Pioneers are 9-7.

 

 

 

For Bath, Rachel Mauk had six kills, six blocks and 12 digs. Erika Dickerson had 14 assists.

Bath is 7-10, 2-5 in the Western Buckeye League.

 

 

 

The Big Green's Samantha Modica had four kills and six blocks. Tasha Kaufman had four aces.

 

 

 

Jessica Schwieterman had 30 digs for the Flyers. Tar Hartings had 21 assists.

Marion Local is 18-2, 6-1 in the Midwest Athletic Conference.

 

 

 

For Perry, Christi Walker had eight kills. Chelsea Kuck made 12 digs. Megan Patton had 15 assists.

 

 

 

Elida's Kelsey Meeks had seven kills. Devin Fernandez had 22 digs. Kearston Smith had 14 assists. .

Elida is 6-12, 2-4 in the Western Buckeye League.

 

DEFIANCE 3, ELIDA 0:

Defiance posted a three-game victory over Elida.

 

RIVERSIDE 3, PERRY 0:

Riverside swept Perry, 26-24, 25-7, 25-15.

 

MARION LOCAL 3, FORT RECOVERY 1:

Marion Local's Alyssa Winner had 20 kills to power Marion Local to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-27, 25-15 victory.

 

OTTOVILLE 3, LIMA SENIOR 0:

Ottoville swept Lima Senior in three games, 25-13, 25-19, 25-20.

 

CELINA 3, BATH 0:

Celina swept Bath with a 25-14, 25-16, 25-9 victory at Bath.

 

TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 3, UPPER SCIOTO VALLEY 0:

Temple Christian's Haley Sutton had seven kills in a victory over USV.

 

Volleyball

SHAWNEE 3, ST. MARYS 0:

Shawnee posted a 25-18, 25-8, 25-23 victory over St. Marys at St. Marys.

 

CONTINENTAL 5, OTTOVILLE 2:

Janelle Doenges and Marlene Bradley both scored two goals to power the Pirates past Ottoville. Doenges also had an assist.

BATH 2, DELPHOS ST. JOHN'S 0:

Bath's Meghan Taucher had eight saves to post a shutout over Delphos St. John's.

 

TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 4, FORT JENNINGS 0:

Temple Christian goalkeeper Josh Weiss made three saves to help the Pioneers blank Fort Jennings.

 

MILLER CITY 4, PANDORA-GILBOA 0:

Miller City lifted its record to 11-2-1 with a victory over Pandora-Gilboa.

 

SHAWNEE 2, VAN WERT 0:

Shawnee goalkeeper Austin Howard made two saves to notch his eighth save of the season.

 

Boys soccer

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 3, CELINA 2:

Ottawa-Glandorf took over first place in the Western Buckeye League with a victory over Celina.
